How do I make an appointment?

You can request an appointment online by using our Patient Portal or call the office at 713-942-9357. All procedures will be scheduled by our office.


Do you only accept appointments for children?

Yes, except for very rare exceptions, Dr. Bree only sees patients who are 0-18 years of age with birthmarks or skin, hair, and nail conditions.


Do you offer telemedicine visits?

Yes, we are happy to provide telemedicine video visits to replace in-office visits during this time to help keep our patients, families and employees safe and healthy.  We use a platform that meets all privacy requirements and is safe and convenient.  Your video visit is encrypted, and no data is stored.  Our waiting room can be accessed during your scheduled appointment time at https://doxy.me/dralannabree.  All you need is a computer or device with a camera and microphone.


What are your office hours?

We try to accommodate the special needs of our pediatric patients; therefore, we offer early morning and late afternoon appointments throughout the week. Our office hours are:

Tuesday 10-5

Wednesday 11-6

Thursday 9-3

Friday 11-2


Where are you located?

We are conveniently located at 1976 W Dallas Street, Houston TX 77019 in the Montrose neighborhood. Our office is in a yellow/orange brick house at the corner of W Dallas and Stanford streets just one block north of West Gray and one block east of Montrose.


Where do I park for my visit?

There is FREE parking in the lot behind the office just off of Stanford, which includes handicapped parking. If the handicapped space is the only one available when you arrive, please just call the front desk at 713-942-9357 as it may be fine for you to park in that space depending on our other patient’s needs at the time. Parking is also available on the street along Stanford. This does not require a hangtag, but please make sure not to park in areas marked as no parking zones as they do regularly ticket cars in those areas. We also have a bicycle rack for those who would like to ride their bikes to the office.


What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. We also accept HSA and FSA cards from your employee’s health plans.


Is my full balance due at the time of my visit?

Yes, patients are expected to pay all balances at the time of their visit. If this is not possible, you may be asked to reschedule.


Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not contract with insurance carriers. We use a direct care model, which means the patient provides payment at the time of the visit. You may be able to file a claim with your own insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement or have it applied to your deductible following your visit.


Why do you not accept insurance?

We wish to focus our expertise on providing the best possible medical care for our patients by spending our time focused on you and not on the administrative burdens associated with your insurance carrier.


What are the benefits of a direct care model?

There are many potential benefits of direct care. You, the patient, will be the focus of your evaluation and treatment plan. We believe you will also appreciate the quality time, individualized attention, ease of access and decreased wait time afforded by this model. As well, the fees for your visit may be able to be reimbursed as an out-of-network benefit through your health insurance or applied toward your deductible. Another benefit is that you will know your costs upfront and will not be surprised by a bill that you did not expect after the visit.


Is this a concierge practice?

No. There is no fee to become a member of the practice and no monthly fees. You only pay for the services you receive during your visit.


What if I do not have the ability to pay for my visit?

There are a few other pediatric dermatologists in Houston who accept insurance and Medicaid, and they would be happy to provide you with care.


What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Please call the office at 713-942-9357 to cancel your appointment or procedure at least 24 hours before your scheduled time. If you do not do so, you may be charged a no-show or late cancellation fee.


What if I am running late to my appointment?

Please call the office at 713-942-9357 to let us know so we can advise you what to do based on the current appointment schedule. If you are late and there are other patients who arrive on time, they will be seen at their scheduled time and you are welcome to wait. If you are running more than 15 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule.


What if I need a procedure?

The initial appointment will be a consultation visit to evaluate the problem(s) and to determine a treatment plan. If a procedure is deemed necessary, it may be performed during the office visit if that is an option. Some procedures may need to be repeated more than once, and others may require additional time which would require another visit(s).


What if I speak Spanish?

We unfortunately do not have anyone at the office who is fluent in Spanish.


What if I need to speak with the doctor after hours?

The phone line for the office will be answered during our office hours only.  If you have a non-urgent matter after-hours, please feel free to leave a voicemail and we will get back to you when our office opens the following business day.  Please do not leave a voicemail or send an email for an urgent or emergent issue.  If you have an urgent matter after-hours, please contact your primary care physician for advice or go to an urgent care facility for evaluation and treatment.  If you have an emergent issue, please go to the nearest emergency room for evaluation and treatment.


Can I email the office if I have questions?

This form of communication is available for our established patients and is only for non-urgent issues that do not require immediate attention.  While we try to respond in a timely manner, please allow 24-48 hours for a reply as we receive a large volume of emails from our patients.  As well, since this form of communication is considered an asynchronous telemedicine visit that often leads to diagnosis and/or treatment recommendations, there will be a $50 fee for each issue addressed by Dr. Bree.  This is payable by credit card, and we will reach out by phone for payment when appropriate.


Why is there a cross in the logo of A Children’s House for Pediatric Dermatology?

Dr. Bree is a Christian physician and she believes it is important to share her faith and the love of Jesus through the way she lives her life every day, both personally and professionally.


Will I be comfortable getting my medical care at A Children’s House for Pediatric Dermatology if I am not a Christian?

Absolutely! Dr. Bree values everyone for who they are as a unique and special person, and she will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, genetic information, disability, political affiliation or status as a U.S. veteran.


Does Dr. Bree pray with her patients?

Yes. She is happy to pray privately with any of her patients regardless of their religion, if requested by the patient or family.
